Words of Wisdom from the Qur'an

Words of wisdom from the Qur’an emphasise key values such as humility, speaking with goodness, seeking knowledge, and practicing patience and gratitude. It teaches that one should live with purpose, fulfill pledges, help others, and believe in God’s plan by trusting in Him, especially during hardship, as He provides for those who show piety and rely on Him.

On Hardship and Patience:

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala does not burden any soul with more than it can bear (Quran 2:286). This verse serves as a profound reminder that with faith and perseverance, individuals can navigate and endure life’s challenges. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala intends to provide ease for you and does not intend to create hardship for you (Quran 2:185). This message offers solace during difficult times, reinforcing the notion that ease often accompanies trials. Indeed, we belong to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and indeed to Him we will return (Quran 2:156). This powerful declaration of faith and acceptance is particularly poignant during moments of loss, reminding us of our ultimate return to the Creator.

On Character and Conduct:

Do not walk haughtily or with conceit; rather, walk with humility and composure (Quran 31:18-19). These verses advocate for humility in our behavior and interactions with others. Keep your gazes lowered, free from any lecherous glances (Quran 25:63). This encourages modesty and respect in our interactions. If you lack complete knowledge about a subject, it is better to remain silent (Quran 24:30-31). This underscores the importance of speaking with knowledge and refraining from spreading misinformation.

On Faith and Trust in God :

Place your trust solely in Allah and call upon Me; I will respond to you (Quran 40:60). This emphasizes the significance of direct communication with Allah and complete reliance on Him. Allah is with the patient (Quran 2:153). Patience is a virtue that draws one closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, fostering resilience in the face of adversity. And whoever fears Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect (Quran 65:2-3). This reassures believers that divine assistance is available to those who remain mindful of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
