Islamic Theologian of the Jamia Mosque

Meet Our Head Imam

Shaykh Sajid Latif Qadri is a prominent Muslim religious and social thinker and commentator in Surrey. As a qualified theologian and jurist, he is dedicated to promoting cohesion, integration, and a fairer society. Serving as the Head Imam of the Borough, he actively works towards peace and integration among different communities.

Shaykh Sajid Latif Qadri advocates for British Muslim identity, urging Muslims in Britain to embrace a pluralistic vision of the continent and engage as active citizens. He is involved in various projects aimed at addressing Islamophobia and anti-Muslim sentiments. With a strong stance against extremism and radicalisation, he condemns Islamist violence and calls on policy makers to address social exclusion, which can lead vulnerable individuals to be radicalized by hate preachers.

In addition to his work in social issues, Shaykh Sajid Latif Qadri has extensive experience in marriage counselling and mental health support in accordance with Islamic jurisprudential rulings. Over 500 individuals have embraced the Shahadah under his guidance.

Embracing Islam & Certification

Our exquisite religion of Islam is rooted in a foundation of certainty that is reflected in the beauty of our natural surroundings. As humans, we often find ourselves contemplating the purpose of our existence in this intricate world. We seek answers to questions about the origins of the universe, humanity, and life itself.

These answers can be discovered within the profound teachings of the miraculous Qur’ān. This sacred text is the final message sent to humanity by the creator, delivered through the last prophet, Muhammed (ﷺ). It remains preserved in its original form and is recited by millions of Muslims worldwide, following the tradition of the prophet (ﷺ) and his companions.

The Islamic way of life promotes balance and moderation, offering spiritual peace and guidance through the sharī’ah. This comprehensive approach to life is one of the reasons why many individuals choose to embrace Islam as their faith and way of life.

At Redhill Islamic Centre, we are dedicated to supporting our new Muslim Brothers and Sisters on their journey of embracing Islam.

We have therefore partnered with New Muslims to help provide basic educational and support services for those who need as listed below:

  • Help those wishing to embrace Islam by going through the testification of faith with them and providing a certificate of conversion.
Giving a New Muslim pack where needed including Qur’an in Arabic or English (or other languages if they are available); useful books; prayer mats; salāh guide CDs and other literature
Educational services in the form of one day courses or short courses on specific topics, prepared and delivered by New Muslims.
